Food Assistance

We believe that access to nutritious food is a basic human right. We are committed to responding to the needs of our community through food distribution and emergency assistance.

The Village Pantry Coalition in Evergreen Park proudly serves all of our Evergreen Park neighbors, regardless of race, religion, immigration status, or any other factors.

Food Assistance - Step 1

Gather Your Documents

Proof of Evergreen Park residency includes a valid photo ID (Illinois Driver’s License or Illinois ID, Passport or Consular ID)

Additionally you will be asked to provide one of the following to show proof of current Evergreen Park residency (must be issued within 60 days of date on document):

Current utility bill

Lease

Cell phone bill

PADS ID

Medical bill

Auto insurance bill

Bank statement

Because of our contractual obligations with the Greater Chicago Area Food Depository, we are obligated to serve non-residents of Evergreen Park once every 12 months.

Food Assistance - Step 2

Register with Us

If you are visiting the Village Pantry in Evergreen Park for the first time please register with us ahead of time so we will be ready for your visit. 

If you are not on our list on pickup day we will need to see proof of residency and will ask a few questions.

Food Assistance - Step 3

Distribution Day
Distribution day is every Friday from 9:30am until 12 noon.  Pickup is located in a retired Fire Station at 2704 W 98th Place.  Our drive through service is on Washtenaw Avenue and patrons can enter from 98th Street.

  • Produce - seasonal fruits, vegetables

  • Rice

  • Pasta and Pasta Sauce

  • Breakfast Cereal, Oatmeal

  • Dairy Products

       - Milk, Eggs and Cheese

  • Meat Products of varied types

  • Canned Fruits

  • Canned Vegetables

  • Canned Beans

  • Canned Soup

  • Canned Tuna

  • Canned Meat

  • Canned Pasta and Chili

  • Dry Beans

  • Bread

  • Peanut Butter and Jelly
